YoY: Pakistan's cement despatches plunge 3.96pc in September

Exports despatches jumped by 19.24pc
LAHORE (Web Desk) - The country's cement despatches fell by 3.96 per cent in September 2023, All Pakistan Cement Manufacturers Association (APCMA) states in its latest figures.
Last month, total despatches clocked in at 4.115 million tons against 4.284 million tons during the corresponding month of last fiscal year.
The APCMA data shows that local cement despatches by the industry during September 2023 remained 3.544 million tons compared to 3.806 million tons in September 2022, showing a decline of 6.87pc.
Exports despatches jumped by 19.24pc as the volumes jumped from 478,097 tons in September 2022 to 570,101 tons in September 2023.
The data further reveals that during the first quarter of current fiscal year, total cement despatches (domestic and exports) were 11.873 million tons that is 23.40pc more than 9.621 million tons despatched during the corresponding period of last fiscal year.
